Campaign Fund for Theatre in Gaza

The Al Mishal Cultural Centre in Gaza was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike on the 9th August 2018.

Theatre practitioners in the UK launched a campaign to replace/rebuild the centre.  Initially the collection point is Az Theatre but we want to broaden the base of the appeal and internationalise our effort.  Please help in anyway you can by contacting us through Az Theatre.

This is a devastating loss for the cultural and artistic scene in Gaza. (Read more.) The five storey building housed many theatre productions and cultural activities.  It was the venue of choice for theatre companies in Gaza, including our partners, Theatre for Everybody and also the Ashtar Gaza Youth Theatre.

We have now raised £5100 and we are suspending our fundraising.  The 50 people who have contributed are the seed-sowers. Now we must build a more international platform with a committee of dedicated people rooted in Gaza to build a fund to achieve our goal. Any help and suggestions, please contact Az!
