WE NEED Technical Support, Front of House volunteers and Researchers
We aim to create public conversations through events about critical aspects of life in Palestine and link up ‘skill and knowledge’ communities there with those elsewhere.
Since February 2024 we have ran these events: in collaboration with Architects for Gaza, about resilience in the NGO sector, about the experience of imprisoned by the Israeli, about learning and teaching, about Women and Health. Coming up we have events about water, about earth and soil and about the disabled.

Az Theatre needs technical assistance/support
We need a ‘technical stage manager’ to run our hybrid live/online events at P21 Gallery London and through Zoom.
These events are key to our PALESTINE: REPAIR & RETURN project. This is in partnership with Theatre for Everybody in Gaza.
The technical stage manager would work like a studio floor manager for these monthly events.
They would be working with a technical system and connectivity that had been developed from consultation with a technical/production stage manager.
The events are carried live in the P21 Main Space on a large plasma screen with speakers into which the ‘main’ event laptop is connected. Another laptop is used to act as ‘admin’ for the online co-ordination.
The participant speakers in the studio space will use microphones and will appear on camera for the online public and for the live public.
We often use screen-sharing and present video material, sometime through screen-sharing.
There is a presenter in Cairo, a presenter in London, and somebody on ‘admin’ responsible for admitting people and loading illustrative material
They should have knowledge of sound systems, microphones, cameras, speakers, laptop connectivity and Zoom. They need to be able to tackle problems of connectivity between the different elements we are using.
The ‘technical stage manager’ would need to be available for a technical rehearsal before the event, possibly a day or two before the event.

Az Theatre needs people ‘Front of House’ to welcome people to our event and communicate our aims and activities.
We need people to help at our events at P21 Gallery London.
These events are key to our PALESTINE: REPAIR & RETURN project. This is in partnership with Theatre for Everybody in Gaza.
We need people to welcome the public to our events at P21, to ensure that they have all the information about the event, about how to deepen their involvement in our project, and about how to make financial contributions to our project.
They would need to encourage our public give contact details and ensure that they are informed about how to contact us and our social media presence.
They would need to familiarise themselves with all aspects of the project, its history, its aims and the activities it aims to generate.
This front of house role is broadly ambassadorial and crucial to our effort to communicate what our project is about.

Az Theatre needs volunteers to help research for our PALESTINE: REPAIR & RETURN project
We need people to research the fields of human activities that our events are centred on.
We need research skills to discover the underlying issues around these and other topics as well as to discover and make contact with projects on the ground in Palestine to which people outside Palestine can creatively and productively relate.
This work is the vital component in our work and is a really exciting opportunity for people to work with our intercultural and trans-disciplinary team.
Since the events will be more or less monthly this may take no more than the equivalent of two days a month.
