Stephen Lowe

Stephen Lowe is a founding artistic director of Meeting Ground. His work is centred on “The Politics of Imagination” and his plays have been performed by RSC, London’s Royal Court, Nottingham Playhouse and many other theatres around the world. His work for film and TV includes the BBC Classic serial Scarlet and Black starring Ewan Macgregor, Fleabites with Nigel Hawthorne and ten years as a Coronation Street writer. He was chair of Arts Council East England until 2008 and has recently been awarded honorary doctorate by Nottingham University for his contribution to the arts.
